About

Catherine Collins is a self-taught ceramic artist creating small-batch ceramics in her home studio located in Brisbane, Australia.

Her practice utilises a combination of wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques to craft unpretentious, practical and sculptural pieces that brighten everyday spaces.

Each piece is hand sculpted from durable stoneware clay bodies sourced locally on Australia's east coast. All clay waste is hand-recycled in the studio to be used for new creations.

Process & Care

Ceramic ware is beautiful and durable, but takes a long time to create.

Each piece is carefully worked through a number of steps and twice -fired to between 1220°C and 1280°C before it is finished and ready to use.

All tableware is food, microwave and dishwasher safe and can be treated like any other piece of ceramic ware in your home (except, hopefully, it is a little bit more loved). If your piece features a matte coloured design, hand-wash is generally recommended to preserve the design, though it will do fine in the odd dishwashing cycle.

Unless otherwise stated, all vases are watertight.
